Attio for Docusign IAM

An Attio Docusign integration that runs inside Workflow Builder: read a person, company, deal or custom object to pre-fill the agreement, create or update the record once it is signed, and file the signed PDF in the record's Files.

Attio for Docusign IAM is a Fluidlabs extension app listed on the Docusign App Center under the name Attio. Its steps appear natively in Docusign Workflow Builder, and Fluidlabs runs the app on its own infrastructure (US region, AWS), so there is no Zapier, Make or other automation platform to set up.

Compare the routes

Three ways to connect Attio and Docusign

The routes start in different places. Here is what each one does and when it fits.

Automation platforms (Zapier, Make)

Zapier lists Attio triggers, such as Record Updated, beside Docusign actions that include Trigger Workflow for IAM plans, and Make lists Attio and Docusign modules on one page. The automations run on the platform and suit teams that already run their automations there.

The HTTP app from Docusign (Make a Web Request)

Docusign publishes the HTTP app behind its Make a Web Request step, which sends GET, POST or PUT requests from a Workflow Builder workflow to an external API on qualifying IAM plans, such as IAM Professional and above. It fits teams that set up and test each request themselves.

This app

Attio for Docusign IAM (this app)

Runs inside Docusign Workflow Builder: a Read step pulls the person, company or deal into the workflow, the agreement goes out pre-filled, a Writeback creates or updates the record, and File Upload files the signed PDF in the record's Files. Choose it when your agreement process runs on Docusign IAM.

Capabilities

What it adds inside Workflow Builder

Once installed, the app's actions appear as native workflow steps. No code, no separate automation platform, no sync jobs to run.

Read from Attio

Pull a person, company, deal or custom object record into the workflow and use its attributes as variables to pre-fill an agreement. Find the record by an attribute you know, such as Email addresses on People or Domains on Companies, or by Record ID, and return one record or up to five.

Writeback to Attio

Create a record, update one, or Update or Create on a match, writing only the attributes you map. Select and status values are written by their title, and a linked record by its Record ID, a company domain or a person's email address. A value Attio refuses stops the step with a message naming the field.

File Upload to Attio

File the signed PDF, up to 50 MB, in the Files of the record it belongs to. The drive is the record's object, and the folder holds its Record ID from an earlier step, so every run files the document on the record the workflow handled.

Private or shared connections

Connect an Attio workspace as a Private connection for one user or a Shared one for the team; each connection works with one workspace. Run Reload Objects after you add or change objects or attributes, and remove access under Workspace settings, Apps, in Attio.

Live in an afternoon

To connect Attio to Docusign, install the app from the App Center like any Docusign extension, authorize your Attio account, and add the steps to a workflow. Full setup, configuration and known behaviors are covered in the documentation.

What sales teams run on it

Order forms

The agreement goes out pre-filled from the deal

Read from Attio finds the person, and the deal or company for the agreement details, Prepare eSignature Template pre-fills the order form or contract, and Send Documents for Signature delivers it. Nobody re-types what Attio already holds.

Signed and filed

The signed agreement lands in the record's Files

After signing, File Upload files the Combined Envelope File on the person or deal, found by the Record ID that the Read step returned, so the team opens the completed agreement from Attio.

Record updates

The deal moves on once the agreement is signed

A Writeback step moves the deal to a new stage or updates the record with values collected in the workflow, so the team sees the outcome in Attio without opening Docusign.

FAQ

The Attio Docusign integration, answered

Does Attio integrate with Docusign?
Yes. Zapier and Make list Attio triggers and Docusign actions for automations that run on their platforms. Attio for Docusign IAM, published on the Docusign App Center by Fluidlabs, a Docusign Build IAM Specialized Partner, works at the workflow layer: it adds Read, Writeback and File Upload steps for Attio inside Docusign Workflow Builder.
Is this the official Attio integration for Docusign?
It is a Fluidlabs app, not one from Attio or Docusign. Fluidlabs, a Docusign Build IAM Specialized Partner, built it, operates it and supports it, and it is listed on the Docusign App Center under the name Attio, with Fluidlabs as the publisher.
How is this different from connecting Attio and Docusign with Zapier or Make?
Zapier and Make connect the two through automations that run on their platforms, using Attio triggers such as Record Updated and Docusign actions such as Trigger Workflow for IAM plans. This app runs inside the Docusign workflow itself: it reads the Attio record to pre-fill the agreement, writes the outcome back to the record and files the signed PDF in its Files, with routing and logic managed in Docusign.
Do I need Zapier or Make to connect Attio and Docusign?
No. The steps appear natively in Docusign Workflow Builder once you install the app from the Docusign App Center, and Fluidlabs runs the app on its own infrastructure. There is no Zapier, Make or other automation platform to set up, and no sync jobs to monitor.
Does it work with Docusign Maestro?
Yes. Maestro is now called Docusign Workflow Builder, and that is where the Attio steps run. Read from Attio, Writeback to Attio and File Upload are added to a workflow like any other step.
Which Attio objects can the workflow use?
Every object in your workspace: People, Companies, Deals and your custom objects, with the attributes you see in Attio, custom attributes included. Attio's Users and Workspaces objects, lists and list entries, notes, tasks and comments are not available in workflow steps.
What do I need to use it?
An Attio workspace, an Attio user with access to the records your workflows will use, and a Docusign account with admin rights to install and manage apps in the App Center. The app connects through OAuth 2.0, and Attio names it Docusign IAM Workflows on its access request.
Where does our CRM data go?
Record data moves between Attio and your Docusign account at workflow runtime: the Read step pulls the attributes you select into workflow variables, and the Writeback and File Upload steps send data and signed files back to Attio. Fluidlabs operates the app under ISO 27001 certification, hosted in the US region on AWS.
How long does setup take?
The install is a short sequence: search for Attio in the Docusign App Center, click Install App, then Install and Authorize. Click Connect Account, choose a Private or Shared connection, name it, sign in to Attio and click Confirm. The three Attio steps are then available in Workflow Builder, and building the workflow takes as long as your process needs.
What does support look like?
Named support at docusign-support@fluidlabs.com, monitored weekdays 09:00-19:00 CET, with priority-based response targets set out in the Service Terms.
Can Fluidlabs build the agreement workflow for us?
Yes. Fluidlabs builds Docusign extension apps and the Workflow Builder flows around them as a service. The team behind this app can design and configure your Attio agreement workflow end to end.

Need Attio to do more than the app covers?

The app covers the steps on this page. When you need a custom object, a module the app skips, or a sync on your own schedule, we scope that work as an integration and put a fixed price in writing. Enterprise Integration starts at $45,000.
