Wealthbox CRM for Docusign IAM

A Wealthbox Docusign integration for firms that run agreements on Docusign: read contact and opportunity data to pre-fill envelopes, then write signed data back to the right records, without leaving the workflow.

This is a native extension app in the Docusign App Center, built for financial advisors, RIAs, and wealth management firms: eSignature agreements prepared from Wealthbox records, with no Zapier and no third-party connector in the path.

Capabilities

What it adds inside Workflow Builder

Once installed, the app's actions appear as native workflow steps. No code, no middleware, no separate sync jobs.

Read Wealthbox records mid-workflow

Pull a single Contact or Opportunity into the workflow and use its fields as variables: names, primary email and phone, address, household details, opportunity stage and amount. Envelopes are pre-filled straight from the CRM record, so nothing is re-typed and nothing drifts from Wealthbox.

Write signed data back to the right record

After signing, create or update a Contact or Opportunity from workflow data: signer-entered form fields, envelope metadata, or values carried from a Read step. Choose Update, Create, or Update or Create, and match by Record ID so the write lands on the exact record.

Log a note against the client record

Write a note to Wealthbox as part of the workflow, carrying text and a link to the signed document. Link it to a contact, opportunity, or project by Record ID and it appears both in the Home activity feed and on the record itself.

Matching and validation that fail safely

Contacts match by Record ID, exact name, or email; opportunities match by Record ID only. If several records match, the step stops with an error instead of writing to the wrong one, and ambiguous amount formats are rejected with an error naming the field, so a misread value is never stored.

What advisory firms run on it

Client onboarding

Onboarding paperwork without re-typing

Read the client's contact record at the start of the workflow and pre-fill the onboarding agreement with names, addresses, and household details straight from Wealthbox. The advisor reviews instead of transcribing.

After signing

A pipeline that updates itself

When an engagement is signed, a Writeback step moves the opportunity to the right stage, records the signed amount, and updates the contact with any details the client corrected in the form. The CRM reflects the agreement the moment it completes.

Audit trail

Every agreement on the client record

Finish the workflow with a note linked to the contact by Record ID, carrying a link to the signed document. Anyone opening the client in Wealthbox sees the completed agreement in the record's activity.

FAQ

The Wealthbox Docusign integration, answered

Do I need Zapier to connect Wealthbox and Docusign?
No. This app is a native extension in the Docusign App Center. Install it, connect your Wealthbox account with an API access token, and the Wealthbox read and writeback steps appear directly in your Docusign workflows. There is no third-party connector and no separate automation account to maintain.
How is this different from the Zapier Docusign integration for Wealthbox?
Zapier reacts after an envelope event: once a document is sent or signed it can log a note or create a task in Wealthbox. This extension runs inside the Docusign workflow itself: it reads Wealthbox contact and opportunity fields to pre-fill the envelope before sending, then writes the signed values back to the right record and logs the agreement as a note.
Can I pre-fill Docusign envelopes with Wealthbox client data?
Yes. Add the Read from Wealthbox step to a workflow, select the contact or opportunity fields you need, and map them into envelope fields. Clients see their details already filled in when they sign, which cuts re-typing and NIGO errors on onboarding paperwork.
Is this the official Wealthbox integration for Docusign?
It is the Wealthbox extension app listed in the Docusign App Center, built and operated by Fluidlabs, a Docusign Build IAM Specialized Partner. Wealthbox did not build it: the app connects to your Wealthbox account through the Wealthbox API, and it ships through Docusign's review.
Does it work with Docusign Maestro?
Yes. Maestro is now called Docusign Workflow Builder, and that is where the Wealthbox app runs: once installed and connected, Read from Wealthbox and Writeback to Wealthbox appear in the workflow step picker.
What do I need to use it?
A Wealthbox CRM account with permission to create an API access token, and a Docusign account with admin rights to install and manage apps in the App Center.
Where does our client data go?
Data flows between Wealthbox and your Docusign account at workflow runtime: a Read step pulls the record fields you select into workflow variables, and a Writeback step sends workflow values back to Wealthbox. Fluidlabs operates the app under ISO 27001 certification, hosted in the US region on AWS.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Install the app from the Docusign App Center, click Connect Account, choose the connection visibility, name the connection, approve access on the Wealthbox consent screen, and paste your Wealthbox API access token. Create the token in Wealthbox first, under Settings, API Access, Create Access Token: the token entry screen in Docusign is time-limited, so have the token copied before you start.
What does support look like?
Named support at docusign-support@fluidlabs.com, monitored weekdays 09:00-19:00 CET, with priority-based response targets set out in the Service Terms.
Can Fluidlabs build the workflow for us?
Yes. Fluidlabs builds Docusign extension apps as a fixed-scope service, delivered by the same team that built and operates the Wealthbox app, and can set up the read, envelope, and writeback flow around it. See the Docusign IAM extension app development service for scope and timeline.
